Our Services

Museum quality services at affordable prices.

Art Scanning & Digital Capture

We can scan flat artworks up to 12.2″x17.2″. Larger sized artworks up to 8’x12′ are photographed in our studio using color balanced strobe lighting and a Fuji GFX 100MP camera. Both methods produce a color accurate & high resolution digital file that can be printed any size your heart desires.

Archival Mounting

Working only with the best materials available, we can mount prints or original artworks to a variety of substrates including: Museum Rag Board, Gatorboard & Dibond.

Paper & Canvas Printing

We have over 30 papers & canvas in stock for you to choose from. Sample prints are available for viewing in our studio or we can print proofs of your images on any paper you like and ship them to you.

Color Matched Prints

Pick a paper of your choice and we’ll make you a print that looks identical to your original.

Film Scanning

We scan all sizes of film: 35mm, 120mm, 4″x5″ & 8″x10″.

Personalized 1-on-1 printing

Together, we’ll view your images on our color calibrated monitor, make proof prints on the paper of your choice and make any edits necessary in photoshop including color corrections, contrast adjustments in curves, sizing & sharpening. With tailored guidance and continuous support, we’ll work together to create the highest quality prints you can imagine. If you are out of state but want the same level of service we can make it happen!

step by step

Turning an original artwork into a fine art print

Your artwork is about to embark on transformative journey.

1. Digitize the artwork

We will scan or photograph the original art work depending on it’s size and texture. At the time of digital capture we use a grey card and color target to create a neutral color balance.

2. Print a proof

Choose a paper or canvas from our wide selection. Options include: paper surface (matte or coated), tone (neutral or warm), texture (smooth or heavy) and paper weight (210gsm-340gsm). The 1st proof print will look great but it may not look exactly like the original depending on paper choice. Proof print size is 12″x17″.

3. Color match the digital file

We print the digital file over and over, tweaking the color balance and tonal values with each print while judging it against the original. After approx 4-5 proof prints we arrive at a final print that matches your original to the paper you’ve selected.

FAQs

What is your turn around time?

24-48hrs for most projects. Same day printing is available upon request with a 10% rush fee.

What is giclee printing?

Giclee printing is a marketing term from the 1980’s that refers to Pigment Ink Jet Printing. This is what we do! We just prefer to call it what it is.

How do I ship my artwork to you for reproduction?

If your artwork can be rolled we recommend shipping in a tube. If not, we recommend using a premium art box from Fedex. See details here. Remember to always insure your package at the time of shipping and select signature required!

How do you ship prints?

We ship print rolled up in premium paper boxes or tubes with UPS ground. The cost is $5 for packaging and typically $10-$20 for delivery depending on where you live.

Is a deposit required? How do I pay?

Deposits are required for any job over $1000.00 for new clients only. We will send you an invoice you can pay online.

I want to have my painting photographed and printed. Will the print look the same as the original?

The first print we make will look great but it will likely not look exactly like the original. We perform a standard color adjustment to the file when scanning or photographing an artwork. This is perfectly fine for using the digital file online or submitting it to a competition. You very well may be happy with the print as well. However, if you require an exact match between the print and the original, we recommend picking a paper that is close to the original and performing the color matching process.

How do I receive my digital file?

We will send you a download link with a Hi-Res Tiff file for printing and a medium resolution JPEG for web usage.

I want to sell my prints online. Any advice?

First off, make a good quality print and document it. Photograph the actual print or make a video of it. Post it to your social media or online store. It helps to create a sense of urgency by making it a limited edition print. Take it a step further and frame the print so your clients can see how good it will look on their walls at home!

Our CLients

Museum quality

[Art Copy Shop] printed three extremely large photos, the largest of which was 79.203″ W x 58.523″ H centered on paper 80″ x 59.125 for a Korean artist who is exhibiting his work at the PMA. Extremely professional and came through on an extremely tight deadline, I highly recommend to anyone looking for museum quality work–especially if you are in the Philly metro area. Nice to work and patronize someone in your neighborhood–right?!! Thank you Jeffrey, the PMA was glad to work with you.

Printing my paintings

This was my first time printing some of my paintings, and everyone at [Art Copy Shop] was so helpful. They took me through all the options, and explained how it would work. It was great, and I love the final products. I highly recommend them!

Knowledgeable and patient

I’ve printed pieces with [Art Copy Shop] for several years and throughout, the work has been impeccable. They respond right away to calls and emails, and jobs are delivered quickly. But more importantly, everyone I’ve worked with has been so knowledgeable and patient, and shown a real passion for making my prints look perfect with the right combination of paper (so many options!) and precise edits. I’ve learned a great deal, and consulting time always feels like a fun and friendly collaboration.
